Album Review: Science & Faith by the Script

This has been a while, its not because I was really late in buying this album. The reason is that I keep looping the album in the car and I always seem to have somehow forgotten about blogging about this album or when I actually do remember it, it was not the right time, so now finally, I have the time to do so. So now here is the review. The song list are as follows

Notable Songs: Nothing, Science & Faith, Exit Wounds & If You Ever Come Back

The Good: The fact that the songs in the Script can range from a soothing song that calms your nerves, to songs that can make you feel good to songs that you can see yourself making out with someone in your car is just fantastic for my car. No matter what song it plays, it would set the mood straight. If I feel sad, the song comforts me, if I feel pissed, it calms me down. But now from a non psyche standpoint, it really is not much different than the first album in terms of sound, you still hear what you hear from the first album. This can only mean one thing: it justs gets better and better. The lyrics are poetic and the songs by the Script this time do not really drone on like one real long song like the first one. Which is fantastic

You Won't Feel a Thing is a nice song, a sort of intro towards the main content like it is some kind of prequel. I liked it as I felt it was a good taste before dwelling into more deeper 'Scriptness'

For the First Time may be released as a single but it does not stand out for me as it kinds of blends in or gets out shone by the other songs, definitely less catchier than the others.

Nothing is a great standard Script song. I love it because it just reminds me why I liked them.

Science & Faith is my favourite in the album. I love how the lyrics just speak out in relation to well science and faith. I love it so much that its just so romantic. Slightly different than the usual Script's emo tone, but I love it more than usual.

If You Ever Come Back is noted because I find myself connected to the song, post Science & Faith syndrome a maybe but hey, I love it none the less.

Dead Man Walking is a catchy song and somewhat eerie. Definitely a pop out but a subtle one.

This is Love talks about sacrifice and love.

Walk Away is really really catchy and it has that slightly eerieness that's present in Dead Man Walking

Exit Wounds is my personal favourite as it is pretty much the most dramatic song in the album and I know how getting your heart broken feels like and if I ever need something to set my mood, Exit Wounds it is.

The Bad: Its the same old thing, there may be slight variations but nothing much. I also feel that for some reason 10 songs is just not enough. After Exit Wounds, it felt like a cliffhanger for some reason.

Overall: I find it a very enjoyable album to listen to, definitely room for improvement but very enjoyable nontheless, on par with the first album though I do find myself preferring the first one at times.

Rating: Script gets 4 out of 5. Good but not good enough to warrant a huge success from me

Spotlight On: Jordin Sparks and Guy Sebastian

Happy New Year to you guys, I will upload some pics of Singapore, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne soon, but for now, I need to share with you this earth shattering collaboration that's heating up Australian airwaves! It's Australian Idol Guy Sebastian and American Idol Jordin Sparks, yup it's an Idol combo packing a one two punch!If you don't know who Guy Sebastian is, well, google him up. Sheesh. I am not a Lexipedia or a Sarafie or a Greggle, okay!


The song is called 'Art of Love' and yes it's like what the title suggests, its a ballad from a duet about learning the art of love, a nice power ballad that will probably make you forget another earth shattering collabo from a certain optimistic pollyanna featuring one of TV's breakout star in a super hot show who he happens to beat me to it in showing it... hahaha...

Jordin and Guy defintiely make a great combo, both of them have that balck soul that comes in handy when it comes to ballads like these. Well, I am no expert music reviewer or anything who uses technical jargon like lisp, senstous, electro and whateverb but I know good music when I hear it and I am always miles ahead when it comes to the hottest hits. Let's face it, I make Hitz.fm look like a channel meant for outdated ancient beings. So let's cue the video people!

Spotlight On: Cheryl Cole

Cheryl Cole is one of the singers from one of the ever popular Brit girl bands Girls Aloud, after they have decided to pull off from band duties for a while and try out solo careers, the famous X-Factor judge or Mrs Ashley Cole of Chelsea (BOO!!!!) decided to pull off a solo career first ahead of her other bandmates Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberly Walsh. Now, unless you sound different from what your band usually sounds, you are destined for failue and also the fact that usually when it comes to band members who pull off solo careers, only one is destined to be successful ie (Beyonce, Ronan Keating, Robbie Williams, Rachel Stevens, Jesse McCartney). So with the already high status that she has (X-Factor Judge, Mrs Ashley Cole and a Girls Aloud member) expectations, to say the least, were high. So she released her first single 'Fight For This Love' and it hit number one on the UK Charts, her next single featuring Will.i.a.m (who she was featured in his song 'Heartbreaker') titled '3 Words' (also name of album) is slowly becoming a hit. 'Fight For This Love' is an official video while '3 Words' is not.






'Fight For This Love' is a very catchy song, the video is a little French with a bit of Micheal Jackson in it. I love it. As for '3 Words' there is a certain kind of calmness into it, a bit of like song of peace with a nice clubby beat. Very smooth.

Cheryl Cole is what to us, as what any crooner was to our grandparents, smooth beats, nice clubby feel, a sense of energy but more towards peace. Think of a modern 1920s speakeasy, very Chuck Bass. Her music definitely needs a few more listens to take in it's hidden charm. At first, you would feel like this song is nothing special, but you feel that you should listen to it a bit more, then you keep on listening to it, which you will then find yourself loving it. Chery Cole's music is mysterious, noir, charming, calming, indulgent and a very outspoken soft confidence. I think that Cheryl Cole's album may probably find it's way into my car, because I can definitely imagine myself listening to it while driving.

Spotlight On: Love and Theft

I always love indy and country music, they give me a sense of peace whenever I am on the road, I guess in that sense, I have the essence of a real man.
I love country music because most of them tell a story, a way to make me feel and reflect on myself. Some I can relate myself into, like Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Leann Rimes and Rascal Flatts are some of those big names in the country music business., but usually, the music that I chose are random at best, but they always have some form of energy in there.
I know that among my friends or dare I say, the whole Asian Continent do not update themselves much with the current hits.
Take 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga for example, I listened to it way back last year and was hooked on it, by the time it goes mainstream, I still liked it but I have already moved on to Love Game, Paper Gangsta, Paparazzi and Starstruck .

Now let me introduce to you to this awesome new band called Love and Theft (they should totally change the name). When I first heard of it while surfing through the net, I was like, 'Love and Theft'? Sounds like a cheezy boy band, but I was hell wrong!

Their single 'Runaway' from their first album World Wide Open literally in my essence sends my world wide open, guess you can never judge a book. The song is obviously about a young man's feeling that he has had enough of the way he has been treated and decides to leave this shitty town for good. When I was imagining this video, I was thinking me, Kiat Seng and Martin were like pissed off with this place and decided to runaway. Martin gets a truck, Kiat Seng was on a bike and I get a muscular mustang in the middle of the dessert, driving towards nowhere. Then we reached some airport in Dallas (don't ask, I saw Dallas) and strummed our guitars and sing on top of a carrier truck.

Well, that's my version. I can honestly relate to the feeling of being stuck in a shitty town that even though loads of facilities become available but you still feel that it's boring and something's missing and you feel like you should get out of here, because there is nothing there that can offer you to stay.

Spolight On: The Saturdays

Everyone knows who are the Saturdays
And if you don't please feel free and go back to the shitty hole wherever you came from and fuck yourself with a fucking shit-filled dildo.

The Saturdays which are Una Healy, Mollie King, Rochelle Wiseman, Frankie Sanford and Vanessa White made headlines way back in 2008 with their first single 'If This is Love' and then followed by their second hit, which made it to Malaysian airwaves with 'Up'. Now considering that they get their songs played by Hitz.fm, which I can say that they are successful in the Malaysian market, because Hitz.fm usually cycle their songs repetitively until they become from fresh hits to into shit that is as stale as stale bread can be. Unfortunately some cycled more than others, moreover, Malaysian radio shows are nothing but a bunch of idiot dumbasses with bad taste in music and extremely annoying infomercials which they happen to play more than the songs themselves.

Other singles like 'Work', 'Issues' and 'I Just Can't Get Enough' were also great hits. However, if you were to ask me what my favorite song from their first effort, Chasing Lights, I would say it would be 'Issues' because I have issues, lol.

The Saturdays are back (though it seemed they were never gone) with their second album Colonial Masses out in late 2009 or more specifically October 26th. The first single is this energetic, break up song called Forever is Over. Which is full of angst and a little rock edged, it sorta suits my current mood now. Anyway, AWKWARD.

Here is the premiere of 'Forever is Over'. I really love this song and really wish my readers would give them a try. If Colonial Masses is this good, I really cannot wait for what the rest of the album might be like.

Kellie Pickler was a contestant on the ever popular show called American Idol when it was on its 5th Season. She finished 6th. Which sucks because I thought she would actually win this thing, because I find her so cute! LOL!

After releasing her first album 'Small Town Girls' with amazing singles like 'Red High Heels' and her ever infamous song 'I Wonder' where she broke down to tears at the CMA Awards, she is back!

Her second album which is self entitled aka her name is the name of the album. Comes up with two singles, 'Don't You Know That You're Beautiful' and 'Best Days of Your Life'

Lets concentrate on 'Best Days of Your Life.' This single is Kellie's most successful single to date. It was her first crack into the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 and her first Top 10 Country Hit. So why is it so successful?

1. She wrote it with Taylor Swift who also sang background vocals in the single and appeared on the video.
2. It was about her now ex-boyfriend who cheated on her with someone else
3. This song is so catchy! I love it, can't stop singing it whenever I play it on my iPod!

You should so totally get this song into your iPod, it really is a song that can cheer you up. Lets say you fucked up your accounting and you feel down. But don't worry, because just play her song and dance to the tune! Because it may not be one of the best days of your life but it definitely makes you feel better!

This kid is basically phenomenal
He was on Britain's Got Talent along side the famous Susan Boyle.
Micheal Jackson was planning to pass the torch to Shaheen during his shows in London.
Sadly, as we all know MJ died of cardiac arrest before he is able to start his 'This Is It' tour where he would have performed 50 shows in London.
However, the kid along with High School Muscial Guru, Kenny Ortega came to the memorial to pay the tribute.
I have to say, it was amazingly shocking!
